Veiga joined Chelsea from Swiss club Basel for £12 million last summer, but he has struggled to establish himself as a regular in Enzo Maresca’s squad. So far this season, the 21-year-old has played just 177 minutes in the Premier League, with the majority of his time spent in the Conference League.
Viega played the entire game at left-back in Chelsea’s 5-0 FA Cup third-round victory against Morecambe on Saturday, but the Portugal international might be on the move.
According to Sky Germany, Veiga has secured an agreement with Dortmund, but the Bundesliga club is still in talks with Chelsea about a deal this month. The report says that Dortmund is attempting to arrange a loan with an option to buy.

Earlier this season, Maresca highlighted Veiga’s adaptability since joining Chelsea. ‘He has already played as a centre-back, full-back, holding midfielder, and offensive midfielder,’ Maresca stated in October.
He’s already played four or five positions. In one of my first press conferences, I stated that one of the reasons I admire and love Chelsea is because many of their players are adaptable.” Maresca explained. “Today, in my opinion, if they can play several positions, then it’s better for the team and especially for the players.
Today, if you just play one position, I don’t think it’s enough, you need to learn more positions.
