He was quickly transported to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja confirmed the details to the media, stating, “According to family members, this was an accidental shooting that led to fatal injuries.
Gurpreet Gogi was declared dead at the hospital, and his body has been placed in the mortuary at DMC.”
An investigation is currently underway to ascertain the specifics of the incident, with authorities awaiting post-mortem results for a clearer understanding of the circumstances.
Gogi, who entered the political scene with the AAP in 2022, gained recognition for his impressive victory over the incumbent Congress MLA, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, during the Ludhiana assembly elections.
