In Sokoto State, two young guys named Babangida and Usama were murdered by kidnappers after they demanded a ransom.
Unverified rumours said that once their families paid the ransom Bello Turji, the renowned bandit leader, executed the victims.
On Friday, January 10, 2024, crisis and conflict journalist Bakatsine reported the tragic event and stated that the victims had been held captive for four weeks prior to this awful event.
He said, “On Friday, the news broke that the kidnappers had killed them, leaving their families and community in deep sorrow.
“Usama was a nursing graduate who had just finished his studies. He was on his way home to start a new chapter in his life when he and Babangida were kidnapped on Sokoto-Isa road.
