Two English clubs, Coventry City and Ipswich Town, are reportedly vying for the signing of young Nigerian midfielder Abubakar Ghali.

The Kano-born left midfielder now plays for Czech first-division team Slovan Liberec, where he has two goals and four assists.

The 24-year-old has piqued the interest of Frank Lampard and McKenna Kieran’s team, which will compete with Italian club AC Monza for the player’s contract.According to additional sources, Coventry City and Ipswich Town are both interested in signing him.

Meanwhile, Monza has taken notice of the player and is keeping a close eye on him, according to reports.

The current January transfer window only opened a few days ago, and he may be able to bid farewell to his Czech club if something official is announced in the coming days.Previously, the former Flying Eagles player joined the old club of Super Eagles Samuel Kalu and Moses Simon, MFM FC, for an undisclosed fee for a year before moving to Slovan Liberec.

Ghali was a provisional member of Nigeria’s team for the last FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland before being dropped a few days before the competition began.

The teenager, who was granted a second shot during the 12th All Africa Games in Morocco in August, was the team’s top player, helping the Flying Eagles finish second place.
