Mick Brown, a former Manchester United and Blackburn scout, has spoken out about Manchester City’s interest in Super Eagles defender Ola Aina.

Aina has been fantastic for Nottingham Forest this season, and many consider him to be the finest right-back in the league thus far. Nonetheless, the former Chelsea defender is unsure of his future plans.
The 28-year-old’s contract at the City Ground expires in June, and he is free to sign pre-contract negotiations with any team.
Manchester City, on the other hand, is keeping a close eye on the Nigerian as they seek to strengthen their defense.
This is primarily due to the injury problems they experienced in the first half of the season, while accounting for Kyle Walker’s dramatic fall. Brown, who has extensive knowledge of the transfer market, said that Manchester City has little chance of getting the former Torino full-back, as Nottingham are planning to make a massive contract offer. “They (Nottingham Forest) are desperate to tie him down.
I expect the conversations to move swiftly, and I believe they’ll be getting closer to an agreement. From what I understand, he is quite pleased there, and they want him to stay, so it’s a no-brainer.
I recall watching Aina as a youth player at Chelsea, then moving on to Hull City and other clubs, before moving to Italy and continuing to improve his skills. “When he returned and went to Forest, I was intrigued to see how he did it because he has always been a terrific player, but he has really picked up his game.
He’s strong defensively, gets his foot in to win the ball, and can play forward; he’s a good technician, and he’s performed admirably. “They’re definitely looking to keep him at the club because he’s been so impressive, and they’ve put together something that’s really worked for them this season,” the former Tottenham Hotspur scout told Football Insider.
Aina has been a key part of Forest’s undefeated season and will undoubtedly want to see it through to completion. Nottingham Forest are presently third in the English Premier League table, six points ahead of Manchester City.
