According to Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, an agitator for the Yoruba Nation, many Nigerians are no longer proud to call themselves citizens of the West African country.
In a video posted online on Thursday, Igboho, who was seen at a UK airport, claimed that the country’s lack of patriotism is due to a poor economy, insecurity, and corruption.
The separatists added that if the nation cannot function as a single entity, then different ethnic nationalities should be permitted to go their separate ways.
According to Igboho, young Yoruba people are keen to make their country a contemporary, affluent society akin to that of Europe since they have travelled the world and have acquired invaluable knowledge and experience.
“There is no security even inside the airport,” he claimed. In Nigerian airports, they can steal your possessions from within your bag.
These are all the things that discourage individuals from feeling proud of Nigeria.
We find it depressing to identify as Nigerians when things like that occur. For this reason, we support separation.
It is preferable that we part ways if Nigeria is not functioning as a nation.
“The youth of Yoruba will change the country.” They have gained a great deal of knowledge via their global travels.
They will be able to create it and change the country like those in Europe if they return to Yoruba land with the knowledge they have gained.
