Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Group CEO Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari was congratulated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 60th birthday on January 8.
Kyari’s hard work in turning the NNPCL into a profitable organization is praised by the president.
The President notes that despite skepticism in certain quarters, the NNPCL has accomplished a number of noteworthy feats under Kyari’s leadership, such as bringing two refineries back to life, increasing domestic natural gas consumption, and increasing oil production to 1.8 million barrels per day.
As the first Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, Kyari’s commitment to service and professionalism at NNPC and OPEC were praised by the President.
“Kyari is a shining example and an embodiment of the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” I commend his commitment to creating new opportunities and ensuring the growth and sustainability of Nigeria’s energy sector, he stated.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to grant Kyari sound health, wisdom and strength to serve the nation while mentoring the next generation of energy sector leaders.
