President Mahama’s Inauguration: Governor Adeleke Calls for Subnational Partnership between Ghana and Nigeria

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged Ghanaian and Nigerian leaders to expand their close partnership to the subnational level in order to achieve mutually beneficial results.

In a statement released following a private meeting with President Mahama at his Accra home, the State Governor praised the two nations’ longstanding relationship as worthy of future advancement.

“We congratulate our brother, president Mahama on his assumption of office. We hail President Bola Tinubu on his great outing at the inauguration. On this auspicious occasion, we seek the relationship between the two nations to be taken to the level of subnational partnership.

“The Ghana-Nigeria Commission should specially encourage state – regional governments cooperations. This will help our two nations to attain further developmental cooperation.

“We rejoice with the people of Ghana and we look forward to new opportunities with regional and local governments across Ghana. Osun is open to commercial and cultural relationship for the mutual benefit of our people “, the Governor was quoted as saying.

Six Nigerian governors attended the inauguration alongside top private and public officials from Nigeria.
