The Kebbi State government has provided N585 million to pay for the tuition of 100 underprivileged students attending Indian universities.

The commissioner for higher education, Hon Abubakar Isah Tunda, announced this to journalists yesterday during a press conference held at the ministry’s conference hall in Birnin Kebbi.

He claims that the released sum for the payment of tuition fees for state-indigent students enrolled in various courses at various Indian universities has been approved by the state administration, which is led by education booster Governor Nasir Idris.

Therefore, Tunga urged the students to work hard in their studies in order to defend the government’s payment to them.

He stated that the Ministry of Higher Education would continue to prioritize the advancement of education both domestically and internationally.
