The incident occurred at an Islamic school in the Kuchibiyu Community of the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, some 42 kilometers from the center of Abuja, at around noon yesterday, according to a security source.
The police bomb disposal squad was among the security and emergency responders who were said to have reached the blast site.
Details of the explosion were still unknown, and the police had not yet commented on the occurrence, however the injured victims had been transferred to a hospital at the time this story was filed.
At the time of writing, however, school officials could not be contacted for comment.
