Martins Otse, better known on social media as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has given an update on the purported N180 million theft from his non-profit organization’s account.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, VDM stated that N78 million of the pilfered money had been found.

VDM first posted about the situation on Instagram, saying that N180 million was gone and that his account had been compromised.

Otse, the head of a well-known non-governmental group, announced the hack on his Instagram account on Friday and said that a suspect had already been caught in relation to the crime.

Otse claims that the compromised account was put on PND (Payment Network Disconnection), and that N20 million was left in the compromised account after N160 million was transferred to an unidentified account.

Shortly after Otse launched the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative in October, which garnered over N35 million in donations in a matter of hours, there was an alleged security compromise.

Not long after, he was given a substantial N100 million donation by Don Jazzy, a well-known music producer who goes by Michael Collins Ajereh.

The public became sceptical of the accusations, with many doubting the veracity of his statements.

But in a Sunday Instagram post, VDM thanked everyone for the investigation’s success and provided information on the ongoing attempts to retrieve the remaining stolen money.

According to him, the thieving suspect disclosed that one of his accomplices had escaped to Ghana. He said he hoped to look into the issue more in Ghana.

“Thanks to everyone who called to see how I was doing,” he stated. Even though the suspect mentioned that the guy he did it with fled to Ghana, I still want to thank God for the procedure thus far, which has allowed us to retrieve N78 million.

“Hopefully, we will be visiting Ghana shortly.”
