The alleged disappearance of ₦180 million from the account of a non-governmental organization controlled by social media commentator Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has not been investigated or reported by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command.

Otse stated in a Friday Instagram video that ₦180 million had been moved from the NGO’s account to an unidentified account, leaving just ₦20 million. “Over the past few days, I haven’t been myself.

“The NGO website was breached, and ₦180 million is gone. Fortunately, we have located the individual and have taken one suspect into custody.

“Post No Debit (PND) has been applied to the account. ₦160 million was siphoned, leaving ₦20 million. To get the money back, we’re going to Jos.

His assertions have raised doubts, though, with many people doubting the veracity of his justification.

Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, stressed that the command was not involved in the situation when reached on Saturday.

“The FCT Police Command is not investigating any case involving VDM’s missing funds and is not aware of any cases involving it,” Adeh said. Since the FCT Police Command has no record of such a case, the person in issue should be contacted to find out where the incident was reported.

Calls to Muyiwa Adejobi’s line went unanswered, making attempts to contact the Force Public Relations Officer for comment fruitless.

Additionally, at the time this report was filed, he had not replied to a communication given to him about the issue.
