Cristiano Ronaldo has praised the integrity of the Globe Soccer Awards and criticised Vinícius Jr.’s exclusion from the Ballon d’Or triumph, calling it “unfair.”

Ronaldo said, “Vinícius Jr. should have won the Ballon d’Or,” during the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards, where Vinícius took home the Best Men’s Player trophy.
I thought it was obvious. It was unjust. The Globe Soccer Awards are honest, which is why I adore them.
After an incredible season, Vinícius Jr. of Real Madrid also won the Best Forward award at the presentation honouring the best in football.
Jude Bellingham, another Real Madrid player, solidified his rising stature in the sport by winning both the Maradona Award and the Best Midfielder award.
Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal was voted Best Emerging Talent, highlighting his promising future, while Neymar Jr. received the Player Career Award, honouring his outstanding achievements to sport.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s legendary position was further cemented as he was named the Top Goalscorer of All Time. Other noteworthy event winners included
Rodri, a midfielder for Manchester City and Spain, received the Ballon d’Or for his crucial contribution to the Premier League championship and Spain’s run to Euro 2024.
On the other hand, Real Madrid refused to attend the Ballon d’Or ceremony, claiming that its organisers were disrespecting Vinícius.
Despite Rodri’s outstanding accomplishments, which included winning Player of the Tournament at Euro 2024, many were taken aback by his success because Vinícius was regarded as the pre-ceremony favourite after Real Madrid won both the La Liga and the Champions League.
